Providing opportunities for our members to connect and give back is of utmost importance. The chapter focuses on community outreach programs that will positively impact the greater DFW area. Additionally, we seek to honor those pursuing excellence in STEM through scholarships and awards. Please see below for more information on our local impact within the Dallas Fort-Worth community.
SCHOLARSHIP & AWARDS GALA
Each Spring, our members, partners, students, and guests gather to support the NSBE DFW Chapter's mission at our Scholarship and Awards Gala. During the gala, our chapter awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to outstanding, underprivileged high school and college students pursuing STEM at local institutions. Through our prestigious 'Hidden Figures of Dallas' STEM Award, we also honor individuals whose remarkable work in STEM has made a significant impact in our local STEM community. Gala attendees are provided the opportunity to celebrate with their peers, network with major Fortune 500 companies and interact with local small Black-owned businesses, all while supporting a great cause.
A WALK FOR EDUCATION
Our goal for participating in a Walk for Education (AWE) is to increase awareness of the opportunities available through STEM education and to shatter myths about African-Americans in math, science, engineering, and technology.
