Courtney Folkes
Bio
Courtney has been a member of NSBE for 10 years, starting back in undergrad at Texas Tech University. Her discipline is industrial engineering and she has a little over 6 years of experience as a leader in process and continuous improvement activities within manufacturing and now logistics. She also teaches and trains on Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to teams.
Outside of work, Courtney loves trying new things! She enjoys traveling to new places, cooking new recipes, eating new foods, DIY projects, and going to unique classes like aerial or dance. She is also super competitive and loves intramural sports and a good game night.
What's one piece of wisdom you've gained on your career journey?
No human ever became interesting by not failing. The more you fail and recover and improve, the better you are as a person.
Fun Fact
I was a bartender part time for a few months before the pandemic had hit.
