
Patricia Harris
Bio
Patricia Harris is a Project Execution Lead with the Federal Aviation Administration, contracted through Leidos. A Chicago native, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Patricia’s journey with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) began in 2003, where she served as Vice President during her pre-engineering studies at Chicago State University, later transferring to UIC to serve as PCI Chair for the chapter.
Patricia launched her career at Commonwealth Edison (Exelon) in the electric utility power industry, gaining a decade of experience in Regulatory/Reliability, Distribution Design, New Business, and Facility Relocation. She then transitioned to Dallas to join the FAA’s Engineering Services division, where she supports the Power Services Team. In this role, she travels nationwide to conduct site surveys, develop designs, coordinate safety planning, and collaborate with vendors to modernize airport power systems.
An active member of the NSBE DFW Professionals Chapter, Patricia was honored with the 2024 Outstanding New Member Award at the organization’s Annual Gala. Outside of work, she enjoys running, tutoring math, and spending time with family and friends. Dedicated to NSBE’s mission, Patricia continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of STEM leaders.
